Yamaha motorcycles - The development of Yamaha motorcycles happened by chance. As early as 1953, the company developed a large number of other products. They were looking for a use for unused equipment that once made propellers for airplanes. Ideas for this equipment included sewing machines, auto parts, scooters, off-road vehicles and motorcycles. Due to market demand, it was decided to concentrate on the production of motorcycles. The first Yamaha motorcycle was introduced in August 1954 with the name Yamaha YA-1. This bike had a two-stroke single-cylinder engine. Every month until July 1955, Yamaha produced 200 high-quality motorcycles with 274 employees. The YD-1 was introduced in 1957 as a road bike. The motorcycle quickly became popular and was introduced in 1958 at the Catalina Grand Prix of the United States.
